HP Partners With ISV's To Make Technology Available For Finance On Federal GSA Schedule
Leasing of Computer Hardware, Software and Support Helps Agencies Hedge Against Technology Obsolescence
PALO ALTO, California, September 30, 1997
Hewlett-Packard Company today announced that HP Technology Finance has been approved to offer the General Services Administration (GSA) federal operating lease terms and conditions. With this announcement, leasing may now be purchased from HP using the GSA Direct Federal Supply and Services Information Technology (FSS IT) Schedule, a procurement vehicle that allows customers to enter quickly into a lease that complies with all federal requirements.
The GSA-approved leasing services extend to the Tactical Advanced Computer - Joint Workstation (TAC-JW) blanket purchase agreement (BPA), which is designed to support the Department of Defense. HP also offers leasing through the Scientific and Engineering Workstations Procurement II (SEWP II), an open-market procurement vehicle.
With this announcement, federal agencies can now easily obtain HP hardware, software and support services at prenegotiated and approved prices from the GSA FSS IT Schedule, TAC-JW BPA and SEWP II contract.
"It has been a real challenge for IT managers of federal agencies to stay current with technology," said Mark Milford, general manager of HP's Government Business Unit. "Now that leasing is available, agency IT personnel can use their operating budgets to upgrade their existing systems, thereby staying even with or ahead of the curve of technology change."
Purchase HP and Partner products from one contract -- SEWP II -- to simplify ordering, delivery and support.
Data management software QStar Technologies is a leading supplier of open systems data management software for users of UNIX and Windows NT. QStar provides the SEWP II contract with Software for Jukebox Storage.
