Zantaz.com Itegrates With QStar To Make Digital Safe Automated Archival And Retrieval System

Pleasanton, CA., October 7, 1998

Zantaz.com customers can capture, archive, and retrieve e-mail, online orders, EDI (electronic data interchange) exchanges, and money transfers using a Web browser. Because the document storage and retrieval is done over the Internet, customers access the system online using secure links either private lines or virtual private networks (VPNs).

ASP (application service provider) Zantaz.com archives terabytes of information for its customers in the financial and securities markets. The company provides proprietary electronic message archiving and retrieval for the financial, corporate, and securities markets. Founded in 1997, Zantaz.com brought its technology to market in 1999. Its financial customers include online trading companies and more traditional brick-and –mortar companies.

Zantaz.com has two centers running QStar’s HSM Storage Management Software to store information on optical platters in multiple 1.2 terabyte jukeboxes.

"Basically, our customers need to store any document or e-mail related to financial transactions, such as stock purchases," says Steve Shank of Zantaz.com. Shank explained that rule 17a-4 from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires that all transaction communications be archived. "The rule applies to any communication to and from the customers and any internal e-mails that make reference to a specific transaction,"
