QStar, a leading storage solution provider, today announced support for Crossroads Systems Inc Crossroads® 8000™ Storage Router for use in Storage Area Networks.
The Crossroads 8000 is a state of the art storage router designed to connect SCSI devices, including automated jukebox storage devices, into a Fibre Channel (FC) fabric. Using the Crossroads 8000 Bridge, QStar software quickly and easily integrates high capacity on-line secure archival storage devices into a SAN environment to achieve optimum storage capabilities for the most demanding applications.
QStar integrates storage hardware from most major manufacturers allowing users the choice of configuring optical, CD/DVD or tape within a SAN environment to meet the needs of their applications. By implementing fibre technology, jukebox devices no longer need to be located physically close to the server; fibre channel allows devices to be physically located in separate buildings if desired. Combining near-on-line storage devices with high performance caching allows QStar to deliver solutions that provide long-term data security, with rapid access and a fast return on investment.
