QStar Technologies Announces the Release of HSM Version 4.8.60
The latest QStar release is available, offering new device support and a range of new features.
Milan, Italy, 14th February 2002
QStar, a leading storage solution provider, today announced the release of HSM storage management version 4.8.60 for Microsoft NT4 and Microsoft Windows 2000.
QStar has introduced the following new features:
- • Automounter – QStar’s automounter dynamically controls mounting and un-mounting of multiple pieces of UDF media within a set requiring less system overhead than mounting all UDF volumes at once.
• Enhanced syslog – The QStar log file contains more details aiding problem diagnosis.
Standard Windows “drag and drop” and “cut/copy/paste” has been implemented for better integration into a Windows environment.
• Improved help files – more information is available on-line in the form of help files for quick reference.
Increased Mail Notification capabilities – more mail notification features have been added to reduce the administration overhead of the QStar configuration.
• Added set level security – the functionality of standard NT type security has been added at a share level.

QStar has also introduced within this release support for the following devices:
- • JVC 8000 series of CD and DVD jukeboxes
• NSM Mercury series of CD and DVD jukeboxes
