Provides effective removable media management using bulk packs within the NSM Series CD and DVD Libraries

QStar, a leading storage solution provider, today announced support within their HSM and Data Director products for full software management of media utilizing the removable bulk packs within DISC’s NSM Series automated CD and DVD Libraries.
 
The bulk packs allow media to be inserted and removed from the Libraries in multiples of 15. QStar’s sophisticated storage management software allows users to quickly and easily manipulate sets of media and group them into file systems within the removable packs for advanced off-line data management. This allows duplicate media of mission critical data to be securely and conveniently stored off-site for disaster recovery purposes. Both QStar’s HSM and Data Director products support extending mounted on-line file systems beyond the physical boundaries of the library, a feature enhanced by the removable pack capability of the NSM Series Library.
