QStar Introduces the SentryStor Archive Appliance

Hannover, GERMANY – March 8, 2006

QStar Technologies, Inc., a global leader in compliance, archiving and data protection solutions, today announces the availability of its SentryStor™ Archive Appliance series which will be introduced at CeBIT-2006.

Built to ease the management of highly regulated data, the SentryStor series from QStar is ideal for applications such as medical image archive, e-mail archive, financial data management or any other highly regulated data archive application. SentryStor is a software and hardware solution that manages data as a plug and play appliance.  The platform is built on open system, industry-standard hardware and uses SATA-drives.  The Linux kernel and imbedded data management software is capable of delivering easy-to-manage, multi-terabyte-level connectivity to most any archive specific hardware from CAS based hard drive solutions to write-once tape and optical.  The combination of the utilization of open hardware and removable media helps to drive down the total cost of ownership of archive management making the solution significantly less expensive than other enterprise storage alternatives.

The solution is available in three basic configurations; The SentryStor 1000 client configuration is a desktop solution with 500 GB to 1 TB of mirrored data protection, The SentryStor 3000 server configuration is a 1-U rack mount solution with 1 to 2 TB usable storage, and The SentryStor 5000 is a 3-U rack mount solution with 3 TB to 38 TB of RAID-5 data protection.  All SentryStor devices come pre-configured with the QStar Master, HSM or Data Director storage management software to provide tiered based data management for maximum hardware utilization and data protection.   The solution installs in less than 5 minutes and provides simple system administration and operation via web-based management interface. System management and service is simplified through fully integrated self-diagnostics and data storage system operation.

“QStar prides itself on providing forward thinking archive management solutions to its customers,” says Riccardo Finotti President of QStar Technologies Inc.  “The SentryStor is a new type of archive system that simplifies archive management and maintenance while meeting the needs of best practices data retention requirements.  It integrates easily into the network, leveraging previously deployed systems, and comes at a price that even the smallest of data management centers can afford.”

All SentryStor solutions are available through select QStar resellers, integrators and distributors.  For more information please visit our website at www.qstar.com or contact QStar sales at info@qstar.com or +1 850-243-0900.
